Business Administration: Leadership and Management is the track for you, if you are interested in effective management and leadership in organisations.
When managed well, people provide a potent source of sustainable competitive advantage for firms to succeed in the market place. Leading and managing people is of crucial strategic importance to organisations. Firm performance can be enhanced through using well balanced people management and leadership practices. At the same time, effective people management needs to take into account the well-being, safety and personal ambitions of the people that make up the organisation.
The Leadership & Management track is concerned with the complex questions raised by this balance between attaining high performance through people while ensuring their motivation and well-being at work. We focus on the complexities of leading and managing people in the current dynamic and international business environment.
We ask questions such as: how do you build people management systems that enhance people's performance while at the same time ensuring their well-being? How do leaders motivate their people to perform optimally while simultaneously stimulating them to show initiative and ethical behaviour?
